八卦：红毛榴连能抗癌吗？

不久前，我收到一封电邮，图文并茂的详述红毛榴连的抗癌功能，书写手法好得让人怀疑，但又说得头头是道，我只好联络电邮中所提及的美国国家癌症中心，在他们的网页上留言，要求他们确认红毛榴连的抗癌功能。

今天终于收到美国国家癌症中心的回信，指出红毛榴连含有抗肿瘤的化学成份acetogenins，但是在临床实验中却无法证明红毛榴连能够医治癌症。

Thank you for your e-mail to the National Cancer Institute (NCI) requesting information about treating cancer with sour sop (Graviola). The NCI, a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), is the United States' principal agency for cancer research.

According to a researcher at the NCI's Natural Products Branch, Graviola (also called Annona reticulata) is one plant of a very large plant family that is known to produce acetogenins.

The NCI has looked at a number of these plants and their products over the years. Although they show promise in the laboratory, they have not shown anticancer activity when tested in animals.
